Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen pays emotional tribute to eldest son Reuben amid 'rough times' at Ravenseat

AMANDA Owen has paid an emotional tribute to her eldest son Reuben after he opened up about the "rough times" at Ravenseat.

The Our Yorkshire Farm star, 47, praised her son after he appeared on Channel 5's Winter on the Farm solo – without his mum Amanda, dad Clive and his eight siblings.

The 17-year-old lad spoke about how the bad weather and the impact that Storm Arwen and Storm Barra had on the famous farm.

He told Jules Hudson and Helen Skelton at Cannon Hall Farm for the final episode of the Channel 5 series, where he helped a guest with a new shed.

Viewers watched a pre-recorded clip of Reuben putting his skills into practice, with Jules complimenting the youngster: “Well done, mate. Great work."

The host then asked: "But Ravenseat, you must see some fair-weather up there?”

Reuben replied: "Yeah, we’ve had quite a bad time for weather at the moment.

"We’ve been hit by a lot of snow and ice. So it’s been quite rough for the past few weeks up there."

Co-star Helen then revealed an ingenious way that Reuben helped during the terrible conditions.

He had invested in a snowmobile when their home had no fresh water or electric.

She said: "But you are the kind of man who sees a problem and finds a solution. And you’ve had quite an alternative method of transport recently.”

Reuben responded: “Yeah, recently I got myself a snowmobile so…”

They then showed a clip of him using the snowmobile to get across the field in the heavy snow.

It comes after Amanda shared a sweet tribute to her son, which left several fans emotional.

The Shepherdess posted a snap of her alongside Reuben and wrote: "Reuben towering about me!

"From just over 3lb and 10 weeks premature to 6ft' 6in.

The touching post left fans teary-eyed, with one writing: "This is such a sweet photo and caption!"
