Shona Ramsey (Julia Goulding) is set to be left worried for the future of her relationship with David Platt (Jack P Shepherd) in Coronation Street as he faces prison for the theft of Audrey Roberts’ (Sue Nicholls) money – a crime carried out by his brother Nick Tilsley (Ben Price).
As the very real prospect that both siblings could end up behind bars – and with Natalie nowhere to be seen – Shona is worried that hope is lost for David. Natalie is the only one who can confirm that Nick was acting alone when he conned the money out of his own gran and Nick seems more prepared than ever to let his brother take the fall in order to ease his own downfall.
As the court date looms closer and the divide in the Platt family widens, David begins to realise how worried Shona is about losing him and he sets out to make a gesture to prove otherwise. But as the pair announce that they are bringing their wedding forward, Gail Rodwell (Helen Worth) pours cold water on this by pointing out David might be behind bars by then.
But is David as confident as he makes out as he reassures Shona he isn’t going anywhere?
With rumours growing that David will end up in prison thanks to Nick – along with an impending exit for Shona as Julia heads on maternity leave – is the pressure about to become too much for the popular couple, sending them crashing to the rocks?
It might not just be David’s freedom that Nick could end up snatching from him…
