Geoff Metcalfe (Ian Bartholomew) has made Yasmeen Nazir’s (Shelley King) life a living hell in Coronation Street, but it’s not just she that he’s been making miserable, as he’s also set his sights on sabotaging Alya’s (Sair Khan) reputation — something which the young woman discovers for herself during tonight’s episode, and as she confronts him, Yasmeen finds herself in a difficult position.
The last couple of weeks have seen Alya become the subject of negative online reviews for Speed Daal — something which has caused her a lot of hurt. She’s come to believe that Ray (Mark Frost) is responsible — thinking that he’s out to get her as some sort of payback — but little does she know that Geoff is actually behind it all.
During tonight’s episode, however, she discovers the truth, as Geoff prepares some new menus for Speed Daal, and once Alya gets a look at them for herself, she spots the same word misspelled on both the menus and on the online review — and thus she puts two and two together.
Meanwhile, Yasmeen is desperate to get out of the house, but Geoff convinces her to stay at home once more, requesting that she make him a nice lunch.
As both Yasmeen and Geoff eat, Alya marches in to present Geoff with her discovery, before revealing that she believes him to be responsible for the negative online reviews.
Naturally, Geoff denies such a thing, and Yasmeen finds herself stuck in the middle as a result.
With Geoff having proven what he’s capable of in the past, will he perhaps take his temper out on Yasmeen once Alya leaves?
He’ll no doubt be watching her every move — encouraging her to side with him over the young woman — but will he become aggressive or violent once more?
Coronation Street continues Wednesday 11 March at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
