After spending approximately 10,000 years trying to get through Clare Crawley’s half of the season, Tayshia Adams has finally arrived to take over The Bachelorette. And the timeline is getting somewhat clearer.
During her first official interview as Bachelorette on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Tayshia confirmed that she arrived on set of the show when Clare was still around—implying that producers didn’t let them meet: “She had just gotten engaged so there was a lot going on. I wish we would’ve so she could’ve thrown me a bone and warned me about a guy or two!”
Flash-forward a few days and Tayshia says she actually wouldn’t have asked Clare for details on her guys, telling Us Weekly “Even if I did have the opportunity, I don’t know if I would have asked [anything]. This is the thing, I have learned that you have to give everybody a chance and you never know what that’s going to look like. It might not look like the same for you as it did for somebody else.” She added, “If there’s anything that I’ve learned from Bachelor, [it’s] to give every single person a chance.”
As for Tayshia and Clare, they have been in touch since the show’s premiere: “We have been in communication,” Tayshia said. “But I think at the same time, like, just having respect for each other’s experiences has been really, really nice.”
