The Chase viewers gobsmacked by Jenny Ryan's stunning Christmas transformation

THE Chase viewers were left gobsmacked by Jenny Ryan’s “stunning” transformation during the Christmas special.

Usually taking on contestants with a pair of glasses and a well-known pinned-up beehive hairdo, Jenny’s appearance has become as synonymous with her name as her general knowledge skills.

However, during the show's Christmas special, host Bradley Walsh welcomed The Vixen to the table – and he was soon blown away by her festive makeover.

Hoping to pocket some cash for charity from Jenny was legendary radio DJ Judge Jules.

He joined fellow broadcaster Jenni Falconer, actor Lesley Joseph and comedian Patrick Kielty as part of the celebrity line-up for the festive special.

Instead of her usual attire, Jenny had opted to wear her hair down with it flowing over her shoulders.

She also ditched her usual specs and caught the eye in a sparkly dress, complete with a jaw-dropping necklace.

“You look lovely,” Bradley remarked right away – and he wasn’t alone as social media was soon awash with messages from those watching home.

Alongside a heart emoji, one viewer exclaimed: “Crikey! Jenny looks red hot tonight. I’m in love.”

Echoing their comments, another person gushed: “Jenny is looking hotter than a pistol – what a lovely outfit!”

Directing a tweet at the Chaser, another person said: “Jenny, I absolutely loved your hair on The Chase tonight. Simply stunning.”

Jenny’s new look didn’t put Jules off his quizzing as he made it back to the final with £6,000.

In total, the team managed to bag an eye-watering prize fund standing at £200,000 – but they needed to beat Shaun Wallace if they wanted to donate to their chosen charities.

And they did just that as they saw off ‘The Dark Destroyer’ with plenty of steps to spare and landed £50,000 apiece.

The Chase airs weekdays at 5pm on ITV.
