This Morning has been hit with a series of official complains after airing a segment about transgender children .

Earlier this week a set to parents appeared on the ITV sofa to talk to Holly Willoughby and Philip Schofield about their four year old being transgender.

In total, 37 viewers took offence at the segment and filed official complaints.

Parents Matthew and Klara Stubbings explained to the duo how they knew and accepted the youngster was born the wrong gender last year.

By the age of just three, Stormy, formerly known as Emerald, was able to tell them: "I'm not a girl, I think I'm a boy".

Dad Matthew said: "I thought it was made up, I thought it wasn't real.

"If 18 months ago I would have heard this story from someone else, I wouldn't have believe it.

"But because I have seen it, experienced it, and I have learned about it, I totally support what Stormy has decided to do.

"What he has decided should be celebrated. We are so proud of the choice he has made."

"Including myself two years ago. People need to respect others more."

This Morning also was hit with a second batch of complaints – this time over a segment about breaking wind.

Despite the obvious light-hearted nature of the segment, some at home took offence.

In total there were eight complaints made to TV watchdog Ofcom relating to an interview with a guest about her online sales of ‘flatulence videos’.

The segment left Holly and Phil in stitches as they tried to co-host the rest of the programme.

It's unknown if Ofcom will be launching an investigation into either of the complaints.
