This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield couldn’t help but gush over leading man Michael O’Reilly – who plays Jonny Castle – after his stellar performance as he complimented his “arms like the Flintsones”.

During Tuesday’s visit to the ITV studio, the 60-year-old broadcaster and his co-host Holly Willoughby welcomed the cast of Dirty Dancing the Musical on the show.

The mind-blowing performance featured the iconic lift seen in the 1987 film as well as a number of the memorable songs and scenes taken from the Hollywood movie.

And it appears as though the dad-of-two was impressed by the casts amazing performance as he gushed over the leading stars on the show.

Holly began: “That lift at the end, I mean it must feel like a dream when it happens, but quite nerve-wracking. You have to do that every night.”

Kira Malu – who plays the role of Frances ‘Baby’ Houseman – responded: “Yeah touch wood it’s been fine since, I mean I trust Michael whole-heartedly."

Michael echoed: “You’ve got to be a good team to do that every night because it’s not the most difficult of lifts but it’s one of the most iconic in movie history.”

It was at this point that Phil chimed in with: “Yeah but your arms are like the Flintstones” as they studio erupted into laughter at his cheeky comment.

Going along with the joke, the dancer quipped: "They're strong enough Phil, what do you think?" as he offered the presenter a chance to be lifted by him.

Overly eager, Phil replied: "Yeah I'd be straight up there, easy, easy" as he chuckled along with him.

It's fair to say fans felt as though Phil struggled to keep his cool during the interview, as they flooded to Twitter to share their thoughts online.

One user penned: “Phil is crushing on the lead guy [cry laughing emoji] #ThisMorning” as another agreed: “Apparently Phil likes muscles on a guy #ThisMorning.”

A third advised: “Phil’s besides himself. Play it cool, play it cool #thismorning” while another echoed: “Phil will definitely be snigging ‘Patrick’s’ seat after he’s left #ThisMorning.”
