Virgin River season four could be on the way to Netflix following the success of the romance drama. The third outing saw Jack Sheridan’s (played by Martin Henderson) ex-girlfriend Charmaine (Lauren Hammersley) find a new boyfriend. She quickly married Todd (Patrick Sabongui), but he was not the man she initially thought he was.

Will Charmaine leave Virgin River?

Virgin River fans were pleased to see Charmaine had moved on from Jack in the latest season.

She introduced bar owner Jack Sheridan to her new boyfriend, Todd, whom she met at her hair salon.

The pair seemed to hit it off quickly and their relationship continued to progress at a fast pace.

Fans were sceptical of Todd and his intentions after he attempted to prevent Jack from seeing his unborn twins.

Todd met up with Jack to suggest he stay away from the family, for the benefit of the children.

Fans started to hate Charmaine’s new boyfriend, as he was extremely controlling and emotionally manipulative.

He also convinced Charmaine to get rid of her pet dog as he “was not a dog person”, and Jack had to take him in.

Some viewers have suggested he could be behind Jack’s shooting, as he first met Charmaine around the same time.

Season four is likely to reveal more about Todd’s intentions, but it could lead to Charmaine’s exit from the town.

She had already planned to move away with her new husband as he wanted her to have a fresh start.

However, if she has a change of heart before the babies arrive, she could be forced to flee Virgin River early.

She started to confide in Jack about how Todd had been controlling, and he may convince her to leave town.

If he was able to find suitable accommodation for her and the twins, they could form a secret arrangement.

Also, if she chooses to end her marriage with Todd, she could leave the town to escape any backlash.

Fans started to feel sorry for the antagonist in the third season as they could see she was being manipulated.

If the series is renewed for a fourth season, Jack may convince his ex-partner to ditch her new husband.

Once Jack opens up to Charmaine about how Todd tried to keep him out of the picture, Charmaine could start having second thoughts.

Fans have taken to Reddit to share their thoughts on her relationship with Todd.

One said: “He wants a pay and win family because no independent woman who wasn’t desperate would fall for his personality.

“Charmaine is naive and desperate to not just have someone love her but also commit to her and her babies. He’s controlling and abusive as f***, lovebombing her with all the ‘look I have money’.” [Sic]

Another said: “I first thought Todd wanted to take her business from her because it was so fast and they met in the hair salon.

“But then now I don’t know – yes he is controlling but I agree with other comments on other posts in that WHY would this rich, controlling man, scoop up a pregnant woman that he can control.

“I imagine he could control many other unintelligent women – why a woman who is pregnant with someone else’s twins? I do not understand.”

Another viewer suggested he was the one to shoot Jack and, as Jack survived, he is now attempting to ruin his life by taking the twins.

However, the real reason why Todd would want Jack dead is unknown.

Virgin River seasons 1-3 are on Netflix now.
