Hot and dry weather through the weekend will increase fire concerns in northeastern Colorado, according to the National Weather Service forecast.
In Denver, skies will be sunny on Friday and Sunday, with just a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms on Saturday, the weather service said. Showers on Saturday will fall between noon and 3 p.m. before giving way to thunderstorms; the chance for precipitation is 20%. The high temperature all three days in Denver will be about 95 degrees.
Late in the day on Saturday an isolated thunderstorm is expected to rumble over the northeast corner of Colorado, the weather service said.
On Monday a slight chance of afternoon showers and thunderstorms is back in the Denver forecast and the high temperature will cool off to about 89 degrees. Isolated thunderstorms will strike mid-week, mainly over the mountains and along the Kansas border.
