Dine Another Day! Eco-zealots’ protest ruins Pierce Brosnan’s date night with wife Keely Shae Smith at upmarket London restaurant Scott’s
- Demonstration held by 15 protesters from Animal Rebellion on Friday evening
- The group sat down with self-made menus explaining plant-based diet benefits
Pierce Brosnan’s date night with his wife at an upmarket London restaurant was ruined last night by climate activists protesting against animal farming and fishing.
Fifteen protesters from Animal Rebellion, an offshoot of activist group Extinction Rebellion, took part in the demonstration at Scott’s seafood restaurant in Mayfair.
They sat down at tables reserved for diners at just before 7pm with self-made menus explaining the benefits of a plant-based diet.
James Bond star Brosnan, 69, and his journalist partner Keely Shae Smith, 59, were among the diners at Scott’s, renowned for its oysters and champagne, charging £110 for a shellfish platter.
A video released by the campaigners shows the actor being spoken to during his meal, with the iconic Bond theme music dubbed over the top.

Police officers were present as protesters were seen being carried out of the restaurant by their arms and legs.
Louisa Hillwood, 28, a primary school teacher among those taking action, said: ‘We’re peacefully occupying tables in Scott’s to make a definitive statement that no seafood is sustainable.
‘Restaurants like this are symbols of horrific inequality, whether it’s the cost-of-living crisis, the climate emergency and the animal emergency.
‘We know that transitioning to a plant-based food system would support fishing communities into sustainable jobs whilst providing abundant affordable and nutritious food, not to mention the benefits of marine rewilding.’
Brosnan’s date night could have been to celebrate the completion of filming for his latest project The Four Letter Of Love.
He had been shooting his movie, based on the best-selling novel by Niall Williams, in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, with the production drawing crowds of locals.
Sharing a snap with his wife on Instagram this week, the star confirmed: ‘And that’s a wrap! Mullaghderg Beach along the wild Atlantic way.
‘The luck of the Irish was with us as the sun shone upon us during the filming of “The Four Letters of Love.’
The couple, who have been married for 22 years, appeared smitten as ever ahead of the evening out

‘Our fish is only taken from boats that are licensed to fish their quotas in an ethical way.’
