Elderly man, 71, found with weapon and 20 rounds of ammo near US Capitol headquarters in Washington DC weeks after riots

A 71-YEAR-old man was found with a firearm and 20 rounds of ammo outside of a Washington DC congressional office just weeks after the Capitol riots.

Dennis Westover, of South Charleston, West Virginia, was arrested on charges including possession of unregistered ammunition and unlawful possession of a firearm.

The pensioner was booked on Wednesday afternoon by US Capitol police, according to the Daily Beast.

He was stopped by cops "in the middle of an intersection" just a few hundred feet from the entrance of the Rayburn House Office building.

Inside of his vehicle, cops found a 9mm black Sig Sauer and 20 rounds of 9mm ammunition.
