Four British tourists are stabbed in Magaluf after wallets and phones ‘were stolen’ in popular party resort

  • Police flooded the resort’s party strip Punta Ballena after violence flared
  • The victims were said to have confronted a suspected thief before the incident
  • Local reports said they had told officers they were stabbed after confronting him

Four Brits have been stabbed during an early-hours incident in Magaluf involving another Brit who was arrested.

Police flooded the raucous resort’s party strip Punta Ballena after violence flared in a confusing incident which ended with one of the stab victims chasing down the alleged attacker and holding him before Civil Guard and local police arrived.

Police were filmed taking the suspect, dressed in red shorts and a red T-shirt, into a patrol car in handcuffs after standing guard around him outside a lap dancing club.

The pavement beside him was covered in blood. The area he was being held in – next to Secrets Lap Dance Bar and a tattoo parlour – had been cordoned off by police to protect the crime scene and help ambulances reach those affected.

The report said the victims had told officers they were stabbed after realising what had happened and confronting him after the Africans fled the scene

A man who identified himself as a friend of one of the victims could be overhead shouting out as he was led away: ‘I hope you didn’t do it because if you did you’re in trouble brother, you’re in trouble.

‘That’s my friend, you stabbed my friend, my friend’s in hospital.’

Dozens of locals and holidaymakers could be seen looking on as the unnamed man was taken away.

The alarm was sounded just after 4am this morning. One local report said the victims had alleged to police they suspected the Brit detainee had taken their mobiles and wallets along with two African street sellers he was working with.

A Civil Guard source confirmed a British 25-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of stabbing four people.

But he said he was not aware of the involvement of any African street sellers and insisted early indications were that the detainee may have been under the influence of drink and drugs and had acted without any apparent motive.

He is expected to appear in court over the weekend – Monday at the latest.

The four stab victims were taken to hospital but their injuries were described as ‘non-serious.’
