Meghan and Harry advised to be more like Kate and Wills, expert says

A royal commentator has claimed that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been advised to be more like Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton, and predicted the couple could soon reactivate their social media profiles.

The Sussexes closed their social channels when they stepped back from royal duties in March last year.

Since then, the pair have embarked on a number of new ventures under the banner of their Archewell foundation, a non-profit that includes production and charity arms.

More recently, Harry and Meghan visited New York, hosted by the city’s mayor Bill de Blasio. During the trip, they attended the 9/11 memorial at the One World Trade Centre and supported the Global Citizen Live event, promoting fairer vaccine distribution.

Now, speaking on his YouTube channel, royal commentator Neil Sean has suggested that going forwards, Harry and Meghan may look to emulate the success of William and Kate in developing a "relatable" public image.

“It’s interesting to note that with Katherine and William, they have become incredibly relatable”, he began.

“Katherine and William have launched social media in a big way; their own YouTube channel, huge success on Instagram, and on Twitter, and they keep their fans – and I use that term loosely – updated with what they’re doing.

“Now, according to a very good source out in LA, following the success of the New York trip for Harry and Meghan, they’ve been looking closely at what makes Katherine and William very successful and relatable over here, and wondering whether they should not take that template."

Neil explained that this would require a more consistent public presence, suggesting: “They expect their fanbase to be there when they decide to pop up, but the digital world they live in simply doesn’t work like that,

“You have to work hard to keep the momentum going, and more importantly, be relatable and connectable."

This means, Neil predicted, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex may once again have to lean on their social media channels to maintain momentum after attending engagements similar to the New York visit.

“Moving forward, we could very soon see the reactivation of levels of social media from the former royals to make sure they keep at the forefront of celebrity, publicity, and more importantly, in people’s minds”, he continued.

“Because as someone told them very recently, if you don’t in the land of celebrity, you could be very quickly forgotten.

“That’s something that certainly Katherine and William cannot be accused of, they’re definitely riding high in the polls right now.”
