Meghan Markle and Prince Harry crowned world’s ‘most interesting’ royals of 2021

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have been crowned the most interesting Royal couple of 2021, according to a new study.

The research conducted by Lucky Creek analysed global Google Trends data for the past year to find which Royal couple had caused searches to skyrocket the most.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were searched for 64% more than all other Royal couples combined and were specifically searched 367% more than William and Kate.

Interest in the couple reportedly peaked during their bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in March which caused headlines around the globe.

The controversial interview was also the most talked about Royal moment of 2021, searched for 566% more than any other Royal event.

It was even searched more than Prince Philip's funeral, which took second place for most talked about Royal story of the year.

The couple who stepped away from The Firm and Royal duties in 2020 were talked about 367% more than William and Kate.

William and Kate's most interesting moment of 2021 was their ten-year wedding anniversary which was celebrated with a BBC documentary.

The anniversary saw interest in the couple to rise 410% above their yearly average.

The Queen was the third most interesting Royal and was most searched for in April during her late husband's funeral where she was pictured sitting alone in St George's Chapel with searches for the Monarch surging 279%.

A spokesperson for Lucky Creek commented on the findings: “Meghan and Harry’s departure from working Royal life in 2020 sent shockwaves across the world and this data reveals that their influence has only continued to grow.
