Former South African footballer Marc Batchelor was shot dead outside his home in Johannesburg last night.
A manhunt is underway after the striker was gunned down in his car at around 6pm by two men on a motorbike.
Pictures of his bullet ridden car have been shared on social media.
South African police spokesman Lungelo Dlamini said: ‘He was shot through the window several times and died at the scene.
‘A case of murder is being investigated by the police and the motive behind the attack is still unknown.’
He said the killers drove away without taking anything
No arrests have been made.
The former Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates and South African national player testified about Oscar Pistorius’ temper in his 2014 murder trial.
He said the Paralympian threatened to break his legs, believing he had slept with Samantha Taylor, his girlfriend at the time.
Pistorious was jailed for six years in July 2016 for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day 2013.
Mr Batchelor regularly sat with the family of Ms Steenkamp during the trial.
