Sarah Huckabee Sanders, press secretary for U.S. President Donald Trump, is leaving her position.
Trump said on Twitter Thursday afternoon that Huckabee Sanders is leaving the White House at the end of the month and “going home to the Great State of Arkansas.”
He did not provide a reason for her departure or name a successor.
In a tweet, Huckabee Sanders said she was “blessed and forever grateful” to Trump for the chance to work in his administration.
“I love the president and my job,” she said. “The most important job I’ll ever have is being a mom to my kids and it’s time for us to go home.”
Huckabee Sanders was appointed to the role after Sean Spicer resigned in July 2017. She previously served as Spicer’s deputy.
