Three people killed in fireball smash in central London after car crashes into building as residents evacuated

THREE people have died after a car crashed into a building and burst into flames in central London.

Emergency crews were called to Great Western Road in Notting Hill, west London, at around 4.50am and found the vehicle on fire.

The blaze was extinguished but three people were pronounced dead at the scene, the Metropolitan Police said.

Police are still working to identify the victims.

A number of residents were evacuated from the building as a precaution.

No other cars are thought to have been involved in the crash.

A statement from the Met Police said: "A number of residents were evacuated from the building as a precaution.

"A scene remains in place and enquiries are ongoing."

Anyone who saw the car before the incident, or who has information, video or images that could help police, is urged to call 101 ref CAD 917/14 Sept.
