Tragedy as ‘loving’ teacher, 23, dies days after horror crash with cement mixer

A "loving and kind-hearted" teacher has passed away six days after she smashed into a cement mixer in a horror crash.

Beca Mai Richards, 23, was travelling in her Vauxhall Corsa on the A478 at Narberth in west Wales when tragedy struck.

Beca, from the village of Llangain outside Carmarthen, was airlifted to hospital 90 miles away in Cardiff where she spent the following days fighting for her life.

Officers from Dyfed Powys Police confirmed that Beca's car smashed into a Daf cement mixer lorry at around 5pm on August 20, reports The Sun.

Her heartbroken family have proudly paid tribute to their daughter, sister and friend "who always cared for others" throughout her life.

Beca's family revealed that her organs would be donated to help save others as her "final gift".

They also thanked all the medical staff that worked so hard to keep Beca "supported and cared" for over the last few days.

Their tribute read: “We are completely devastated in losing Beca. She was such a loving and kind-hearted daughter, sister, friend and teacher and someone who always cared for others.

"We take great pride that, as a donor, Beca will provide a better life for others as her final gift.

"We would now like some time to grieve in private.”

Dyfed Powys Police said Beca's family is being supported by specially trained officers.

Police are continuing to appeal for information from the public after the fatal crash.
